Got my car back today! after it got it's Spec stage 2 clutch and a fidanza lightweight flywheel, it was all ready to go... or so we thought... so after a new battery as well, I was able to drive it today for the first time in like 2 weeks! it feels soooo nice with the new clutch and flywheel, but, I have 459 miles to go to break in my clutch... I really want to see what it feels like now. But I have a quick question, for the 500-mile break-in of the clutch, does that need to be 500 city miles, or do freeway miles count?

so if i got one of those lightweight clutches installed would it last as long as the regular ones (~60k miles)?
secondly, i shouldn't beat it (the clutch) until after 500mi of use? |

QUOTE(JediFonger @ Dec 9, 2006 - 7:56 PM) so if i got one of those lightweight clutches installed would it last as long as the regular ones (~60k miles)? secondly, i shouldn't beat it (the clutch) until after 500mi of use? the little piece of paper that came with my clutch recommended 450 miles of city driving before doing any kind of driving that would be hard on the clutch. I was just gonna do 500 to be safe. -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |
