so i know ive read things about this tranny but how do you really make it work with the front wheel drive celica, when you get it outta the mr2. what years of camrys, solaras, and mr2s had this transmission because i cant ever find one that works with it. there is a i believe like a 95 MR2 at the local junkyard, will the tranny and parts of the axles in that work for the swap.

you will need to take the gear selector out of the awd tranny, then put it into the mr2 tranny. You will then need to have a shop weld the hole on the other side of the tranny up. Then you would need to drill and tap the holes for the shift linkages on the opposite side of the tranny so it works with the cables. I know this is a different language but you will need to go to this site and look at the write up.
as for the axels you will need to use the mr2 inner axles, (and carrier bearing on passenger side axle) and then you will need to use v6 camry Outter axles. Member Nemisis used 1990 outter axles, I used 1992 camry outters. Hope this helps. |
