 Is a heat shield really nesessary ? |

are these really nesessary ? I have seen them and they seem to cover 1/3 or 1/2 of the filter ( wouldn't that seem to restrict air flow? ) and how much heat do they really shield. They seem to me to be just for looks.

Yea my car runs really cold. My heat bar is like a quarter of the way to the C, Because i have the big air dam in my front bumper. My zyclone hood, and i have a bigger radiator installed so my car runs really really cold.

The operating temperature is supposed to reach halfway on the gauge. If it doesn't it maybe means your thermostat needs replacing
