I got 2 Problems that im completely stumped on.

I posted a thread awhile back on Auto Meter Air/Fuel Gauge.
Link: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=43688

I tapped the white wire and nothing.. I have power, I have a ground. Chiltons Repair Manual's Wiring Diagram says the white wire on a 2 wire Heated sensor is the informative to the ECU. Im still having the same problem as I have posted in the thread above. Dr. Tweak if you can explain a reason why you said the blue I'll try and tap that one instead. but from what ive read on the Chiltons white is the right one.

2nd Problem. Very Complicated me and Negative worked on this for at least 2 hours and couldn't find a reasonable explianation for it. Currently My Climate control lights and gauges, everything that is connected to the dimmer is not working. Other words I turn my lights on like usual and nothing illumanates. It has something to do with the dimmer we assumed, since we had played with it before and everything had worked.

We checked out the voltage for the dimmer witch has 3 connections. Negatives Dimmer is:

IPB Image

1: is WB that is a negative ground. No Signal Of Course
2: is WG OutGoing to Everything that needs to illuminate (Recieves 15v Only When Activated and 0v when not)
3: is G Incoming power. (Receives 15v Always)

Now My Dimmer on my celica that isn't working correctly is such:

1: WB - No Signal/Ground
2: WG - Recieves 6v Always.
3: G - Recieves 6v Always

We came to a conclusion that somewhere inside the car WG and G are tapping each other feeding each other power.

We would bypass the dimmer but with them feeding each other its still impossiable. Right now I have it rigged to just keep the gauges on always when the car is on.

My Main question about all this is: Does anyone know something that we don't? Are we missing something? What we found seem like the right problem?

Thanks Guys

Just unplug the dimmer and test the parking light wire voltage with a voltmeter. It should read +12 volts when the parking lights are on. Then you can determine if it's a bad dimmer switch.
