So few days ago i speeded on the ramp to the highway and was feeling like theres not that much power i should have. Kind of lost some traction on high rpms. Then just drived normally without any problems and few hours later speeded again and the same problem camed. So took it to a little testdrive and found that theres something missing on the +5k rpms. On the low rpms it works all fine but when i hit it to 5k it doesnt speed well and sounds little too loud and kind of wierd. I think it might be some problem on the air but couldnt found anything myself so wondered if you 6gcers have some idea of what i should look at?

Btw i now its not 3sgte so it doesnt supposed to speed too well anyway but atleast my 3sge should go little faster than this. I think im not gonna keep up with some 1.6litre corollas. biggrin.gif

if it's anything like the 5sfe, the powerband is just in lower RPMs. once you get past 5K rpms the car just doesn't make as much power as it does in the lower RPMs, so it feels like it's dragging. I don't know much about the 3sge though, so I don't know.

Wel its nothing like that, 3S-GE is fun till 5k rpm, and only gets BETTER when going up to around 7200 rpm. So if the car hold back or doesn't accelerate faster then it did below the 5k rpm barrier, then there is something wrong.

Did you check your ignition system? Spark plugs/wires, distributor/rotor, coil. My car stuttered alot in higher rpm regions because of a worn coil->distributor wire the was oxidized. Check your O2/Lamda sensor.
