ok so my exhaust manifold is leaking again, i thought i had fixed the stud but apparently it came loose.. so now im going to helicoil it.
consequently, i also have another problem on my manifold, 1 of the studs on the turbo side of the manifold has broken off flush with the manifold. i need some help as to how i can get this removed, the stud broke off as i was trying to turn the stud out, so its in there HARDCORE, i dont know if an easy out will work.. the stud broke off flush with the turbo side of the manifold. ok the backstory aside, i need to take the turbo off in order for this process to be as painless as possible, and the only guide i can find is like mega hardcore removing the turbo. what id like you guys to tell me is if i am missing anything (first off, i can keep the oil and coolant lines attatched to the car correct, i just need to disconnect them from the turbo?) then i have to undo that big bolt that holds the turbo to the frame then i have to remove all those bolts from the downpipe then i have to remove all the nuts holding the manifold on then the turbo and manifold will just come off as one piece, correct? let me know if im missing anything.. im trying to get this all fixed up before the dyno next weekend. |

Bare minimum:
intercooler piping and AFM couplers (2 clamps) alternator bracket and tensioner (5 or 6 bolts) lower downpipe connection (3 bolts) oil supply/drain lines at the turbo (take out the studs not the nuts) radiator hoses TVSV vacuum line heat shield (3 bolts) exhaust manifold (7 or 9 bolts) If you installed the turbo support bracket you'll obviously need to take that out as well. If you take out the studs from the oil supply/drain hard lines you'll be able to slide the whole manifold/turbo/DP assembly forward and out the top relatively easily. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
