very very easy to do,
have a full tank off petrol, warm car up to normal temp so the temp needle sits at its normal positon, then take the dials apart, disconnect the cluster and remove, take the plastic cover off the cluster and refit in the car, turn key to ignition but dont start u will see the temp needle move back to normal position, now switch bak off, gently lif the speedo needle and rev needle over the rest pegs and le them drop down to there rest position, now turn key back to ignition but dont start and u will see needles move to the rest pegs and stop, make a note off where the needles rest, now turn off the key and remove the clocks from the car, now u can use a spoon or a fork to lever off the needles, gently insert the dome off the spoon under the needle and push,, the needles will come off, take off the old dials, fit the new dials, fit the needle rest pegs, and take cluster back and replace it in the car, now turn key to ignition but dont start, now fit the needles at the positions u marked earlier, fit the speedo needle gently as u might have too recalibrate that one later, once u have the needles back on,turn of the key, now gently swing the rev needle an speed needle back over the rest pegs, now u can start the car and the needles should go bak to their original positions, revs should be at normal postion, temp should be in the middle, and the fuel should show full, go for a test drive to see if all needles work well, at this point if u have gps or sat nav u can use that to calibrate the speedo needle, but it should be acurate if u have followed my guide correctly, if i isnt remember i asked to fit the speedo needle gently, just pull it ff, and where the speed on the gps shows u say 30mph, fit the needle pointing at 30mph, once u are happy, go back home and put the dashback together... have fun.. p.s mods are welcome to make this a sticky, and if u wish i can write a more detail version....thankyou... |
