I started my 3S swap for the first time tonight... It fired right up on the very first attempt and kept running until I turned it off. That was a pleasant surprise since this is my first swap and harness I've done.
I just need to find that damn clamp for the AFM. I know it's hiding in my garage somewhere. If all I lost was a clamp then I'd say I'm doing pretty good. The open 3" downpipe makes this thing sound mean. Turbo spool is VERY audible even during light throttle in neutral. Cold idle is normal at 1100 RPM and drops to 800 once the engine is up to operating temperature. The RC AFM and ECU seem to be working great on the 90-91 harness converted to a 92-93 RC harness. All my gauges seem to function normally and all the dummy lights work fine too. I'm expecting a code 54 and low boost mode but that's fine with me until I get this tank of 87 octane used up. First test drive will be tomorrow after work once I slap the axles in and fill the transmission with fluid. Time to get some much needed sleep. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

QUOTE(x_itchy_b_x @ Jan 12, 2007 - 11:08 AM) i dont understand this creep people are experiencing. i ran the ct26 with just a 3" DP for a while, when the sound eventually got to me i finished hooking up the exhaust. but i never experience creep to that extant. creeping to 17psi when its supposed to be at 6-7 is ALOT. a psi or 2 isnt a problem but that seems a bit extreme to me. maybe the hose that connects to the actuator has a pin hole in it or the diaphragm itself? The hose from the compressor housing to the wastegate actuator is brand new and a tight fit with new clamps. The other port is blocked off with a rubber cap and a clamp. I'm almost positive the diaphragm isn't leaking as I applied a steady 7psi to it and it held fully open for as long as there was pressure. QUOTE(defgeph @ Jan 12, 2007 - 11:32 AM) Did you grind out that ssautocrap pipe justin ? If not your waste gate door could be getting stuck on the flange spiking your boost. Yeah I made damn sure that was ground down. Too many peolple before me had that problem with this cheap downpipe. I used my extra exhaust housing as a sort of dry run to make sure that the wastegate door wasn't hitting any part of the downpipe. I'm just as baffled as anyone else why some people have problems and others don't. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
