Hello fellow 6gcers. I'm planning to swap a 5s in my ST in the near future so obviously I need parts lol. What i'm looking are the following.
-5s engine harness/ECU (California M/T) -5s engine mounts -5s cradles -5s map and any other sensors required. I'm planning on rebuilding me a 5s I have here locally so I don't need the engine. As for transmission. I'm planning to either; A- Rebuild a 5s and install a taller 5th gear. B- Research if the 92-93 3vz-fe MT tranny will be a direct bolt on. or C- a E153. If anyone has any tips, feel free to post them. Since there's no good write up on this, I'll make a detailed one. thanks! -------------------- ![]() |

I appreciate your input in this matter but High hp is not my goal. I've searched already and I found more information on why "not to do it" rather then actual information on how to do this. I'm actually aiming to build me a good auto cross motor with a hp goal of 140-150 whp which is easy to do with a 5s. This swap CAN actually be done really cheap if you do your homework. Since i'm doing all of the work myself, I'm aiming to do it for less then $1000.
Plus I like to be different and I guess you can say it's my money to blow whether it's worth it or not. But that's the art of tunning. I do agree with all of you that say "3sgte is the way to go". But all I ask from my fellow celica friends is to give support on the different paths we take. Whether it's what you'd do or not. So believe me when I say I know what i'm getting myself into. I wouldn't say i'm an "expert" on the 5s but I know how to get good power out of it for my goals. Sooo.... yeah with all due respect, i'd like to keep this a "non-3sgte, 4age, 3sge etc" thread please. This post has been edited by Celicaguy13: Jan 22, 2007 - 4:08 PM -------------------- ![]() |
