Yea American Idol hella making us seattle look really bad. MOST OF THESE PEOPLE ARE MAKING SEATTLE WAY WORSE THEN WE ARE DO IT.........WE SUCK AT SINGING........

Yes. You basically try out 3 times. I think they pick the average to really good ones, and the really bad ones for entertainment purposes.
Whoever is picked from the first couple auditions, are the ones that see the judges. I tried out in Orlando - 3 seasons ago.
