my 5sfe threw a code 71 a couple days ago. I had disconnected the vacuum hose between the EGR and it's vacuum source, then when I plugged it back in I had the CEL. I'm still trying to figure out what it is.

QUOTE(6strngs @ Jan 27, 2007 - 10:23 AM) my 5sfe threw a code 71 a couple days ago. I had disconnected the vacuum hose between the EGR and it's vacuum source, then when I plugged it back in I had the CEL. I'm still trying to figure out what it is. If the EG probe is not getting hot exhaust gas it will cause the CEL to come on. Clean the EGR, tube assy so it can get the hot gas needed. |
