My piston rings are bad and i'm burning oil. I'm tired of my white car having a black rear end, where i have to wash it ever week to keep it looking desent. Does anyone know roughly how much a shop might charge to fix it?

Normally it's the cylinder bore and not the rings that wear.....
So IF you have ring leakdown, you're probably looking at a cylinder rehone at minimum, probably a rebore, not just replacing the rings. But yes, valve seals also will cause oil burning, and are MUCH more common to go bad. -------------------- ![]() |
