There are a couple Miatas running around with LS1's! Yeah LS-FREAKING-1'S! In Miatas!
365-500hp V8's in 2200lb cars=Fast! The LS1 one is 400 something lbs., just like a 5SFE, and the LS1 is all aluminum while seriously not much bigger(dimension wise) than our big awkward iron blocks, but Miatas are RWD. Doing a RWD conversion like Dr.Tweak has been talking about seems more straightforward than trying to mount that beast transverse with some sort of transx case adapter(that you'd have to prototype yourself). Plus who wouldn't want to get rid of their FWD If you did get it mounted longitudinally with a transmission who's driveshaft runs down a custom tunnel in your chassis and a transaxle that can handle the torque mounted to a fabricated undercarriage(ST205 rear diff/transaxle might be up for it)along with some tires that won't BURST into FLAMES at the blip of this BEASTS sheer, raw, pure POWER!!! Then you would be set to go Honda hunting PS I think/hope/wish/dream that's all you'd need |
