I'm wanting to put a shift light in my car, but I'm not exactly sure what to go for. Stock tach is great for me. In fact, I have a big preference for making things look as stock as possible. What I am thinking about is someone just hooking up a couple LEDs infront of the steering wheel so they are easily seen by me but not others. Anyone know anything about this DIY shift light stuff? Seems like I could tap into something that would send a signal at a certain rpm without paying $50 for it.

QUOTE What I would like is to make a device to tell me what gear the car is in, and that's pretty easy to set up. And also have a top limit and bottem limit. thats a very good idea!! i was working a little while back with making a device to tell which gear the car was in and also tell when in nuetral, wasnt a big priority of mine and i eventually gave up, but id deff want the same setup as you with the tach stuff - like a green led when rpm's too low, and a red one when they are too high, stick em off to the left next to where the factory fog light button would go =) -------------------- you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!
