I've driven both, and I guess I’m not skilled enough a driver to notice a big difference, but both these cars have large compromises in usable space and functionality. That said, the MR platform of the MR-S IS more capable and athletic, so I really do not see a strong argument for the miata unless its pure aesthetics you base your final opinion on. Stock for stock, they feel very similar, with the MR2 being the car that requires more "practice" to be successfully aggressive
 This is coming from a guy who wishes he was 5 inches shorter so he could fit into a Miata to justify the purchase of one  -------------------- Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
