My wife's car (Camry w/ 2.2l) is having some weird starting issues with it and Im hoping you guys and gals can help me...A few weeks ago, her car at startup was acting like it was dead and it made the clicking noise, so i went out there and jumped it and it started just fine. But then about a week later it would happen again... So now, it happens about every time she goes to start it up.
![]() Could this be a starter problem or a starter solenoid? Maybe a distributor? This is just really confusing to me... Any help is greatly appreciated... -Trey -------------------- ![]() |

I had the battery checked and replaced the battery terminals about 2 weeks ago.
Yes, the starter just clicks... But you can turn the key all you want to and nothing will happen except clicking unless you push the gas pedal... I don't know how the gas pedal is involved in this but it is... i think i will probably replace the starter... But is there any reason that any of you would know of, of why i would need to press the gas to get the engine to start turning over? Could it be that maybe there is not enough gas getting to the engine where the starter could ignite it? I just dont really want to replace the starter and then have it still doing the same thing...if you know what I mean. I appreciate all of the help... -Trey -------------------- ![]() |
