 painting interrior peices (added pic), Clear coat or no? |

i have been looking around and i got the paint to paint the inserts in my car, the vents and power window things and all that good stuff but i cant figure out if i need to use clear coat or not. i know if i want a glossy look i should but i cant figure out what the real difference is

 here is the finished product, i think it doesnt look too bad, minus the car is freaking filthy -------------------- |
