I would like to dispense with my EGR equipment, and do a vacuum reduction as well. I've studied the vaccum and emissions control diagrams, but I haven't been able to identify which parts are necessary and which aren't.
I saw there were a couple of threads that didn't get very far with this, I hope somebody has some good info. -------------------- ![]() do you know who i am, mr. worley? |

why? here's the best i can do:
1. it's ugly. somehow, show car owners have very little in the way of unsightly emissions tubing, valving, fittings, etc. while i'm not going for a "show" car, the engine can obviously function without them. 2. it has weight. i am not suggesting that it will be as effective as relocating the battery, but hatchback 6gens have a forward weight bias. every 5 lbs counts. 3. it's a bummer...at least on my car. i have fixed two vac leaks so far this year. i'm tired of messing with it. i know the engine doesn't need half of it to run reliably and safely, and i hoped there was someone out there with a better idea of the intricacies of the system than the manual provides. i was just going to isolate line by line and see how things worked. i decided i'd see if any of the gurus had suggestions first. -------------------- ![]() do you know who i am, mr. worley? |
