My OEM radio has the 92 - 99 amplified system harness. Thinking i was doing all right, i bought a 6 disc changer, but payed no attention to the pin out of it. This new readio has the 2000 - up harness. See pics below.
![]() I can make the conections with the following kits of Metra: ![]() which look like this: My current one ![]() The new one ![]() However i still have questions>>>>> If you see the picture of the new deck: what is a shield ground. I need to connect this without problems.... Also my old deck has 1 power antenna, the new one has 3 power antennas, what do i do with the rest. The rest i can pretty go by colors..... crimp off two of the power antennas, if you don't need them, dont use em.
cut the old toyota female harness coming from the vehicle, color match and crimp the new toyota female harness. i'm not sure if you're trying to connect a newer factory head unit to your vehicle, or just going aftermarket. if you're doing aftermarket, disregard this whole post. i was thinking of doing a similar connection, let me know how this works out for you.
