i live in CA (which has very stupid car laws) and was wondering if when u swap, lets say, a 3sgte engine will it stop you from passing the smog test? and if it does stop you then is there any way to prevent that? even if it is just for the drive over to the smog test place? thanks.

since you have a 94, you could get a usdm mr2 turbo engine from a 94-95 mr2 turbo and be 100% smog legal

but if you go with a jdm engine, then it will fail the visual inspection

... or a 3s-gte out of a USDM 5th gen All-trac ...
