so, i desperately need a new laptop. i was looking at a sony vaio, but i want to get the best for the money. i am absolutely clueless at this kind of thing.

Well, you should list all the stuff you want to do on it.
Both of Vissi's recommended choices (the Asus and the Dell) are good. The asus will play all the games you'll want. The dell will be a great basic school computer for a low price (you'll need to upgrade to the dvd burner if you need it though) |
