I want to improve my throttle response and torque but not sacrifice my current fuel economy and my current reliability... So what can I do that want cost me more than a grand or two, no more than 3 large okay?

Yes, that is a good starting list. You can easily fabricate your own cold air intake for under $100 though, and you could get a custom exhaust system for around $175 or so. Also, an underdrive pulley is another good starting item. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
