So im having the best f-ckin day with my car ive had in the last 2 years. So i go out today to see how much its gonna cost to replace my timing belt tensioner and pulley. Found out thats gonna b around $150 or so for both. Not to bad, then i go to see how much its gonna cost for paint for some parts im gonna b re-painting and installing. $89 a pint. Even better. Then im driving along and start to smell burning coolant, figured it was the sh*tbox old caravan beside me, keep driving..dont smell it..pull into the parking lot of the store im going to, smell it really bad. Pop my hood..guess what? oh...my rad decided to pop on me. So i go and get a quote for a new one..for one at canadian tire..$289 and its gonna take a week to get. So im more pissed off. Decide to go up the street to the local Car Quest..find out they r closed by 4 minutes. Start to drive back to my residence..car starts to over heat. Crank the heat up, still over heating..stop..let the car cool down for 10 minutes..start it up again...already at the red line. So i push my car up behind some bank in the parking lot..call my roomate..he has no sence of direction and is a crappy driver, so he is of no help to take me to canadian tire to get some coolant and stopleak. So i call my other buddy. he comes and picks me up. Get to canadian tire..then he wants to take a tour of the entire store and buy an entire trunk load of crap. So we finaly get out of there 40 after we get there. Go to my car again..put the stop leak in, coolant in, run it for 20 min at idel..leak doesnt fully stop, but enough to get me back home. so just as im leaving, i turn to go around the corner, dont see the parking curb, and bam..curb my rim. Took a nice chunk of my rim and i think i may have bent some of my suspension parts. So yea..im having a GREAT day.
Oh did i mention i have to write up 3 lab reports due tomorrow morning at 8am that are at least 4 pages long each that i havent started..AND that i have 2 exams tomorrow..1 at 8AM exactly for 40 minutes practical, then a 3 hour physics exam right after. This day is AWSOME!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() needed to vent |

valo, whatever you do... don't let CT install the rad...they are fckheads!!
they totally screwed me on an emergency install of a thermostat this winter on my BMW 540i. the outside temps were -20 for 15 days straight and i could not envision driving to work at 4am one more day after day 5. BTW the car would heat up to a balmy -5 by the time i got into work. if it weren't 40below and i didn't give a F*&%, i would have been out there doing it myself. they bled coolant onto the bottom splash pan which they should have removed [it still stinks when i drive it]. did not torque down the fittings, clamps and bolts, charged me for PERSONAL COURRIER SERVICE and refused to top off my rad when i returned the next day with a low coolant warning. get it all in writing upfront and watch them like a hawk. i said i would never go back there 20 years ago when they screwed me on an oil change (old filter was still on the car, drain plug was loose [hand tight only] and charged me for 6 litres of oil for a POS Honda Accord that only holds 4l [barely]). cheers ray PS 289$ sounds "cheap" to me...make sure it's not a piece of crap knockoff or recore. check the condition of the fins, brackets and casing before they install it, PLEASE?!?
