QUOTE(6strngs @ Apr 4, 2007 - 10:37 PM) all you need to check the code is a paper clip. just connect the TE1 and E1 connecters in the diagnostics box (make sure the key is in the ON position) and read the code as above ^ my guess is it's the EGR if it's going on and off repeatedly. HA!..i finaly got off my fat ass and decided to check the code today and guess what, EGR. It was weird though cuz i went almost a week without it coming on, then just today as i was going to get some food i checked it and it said code 71 EGR malfunction. So now i gotta figure out whats goin on with that. Any one else have problems with their EGR?/have any idea of how much a new one goes 4? |

I replaced it with a different EGR and vaccuum module and it still didn't fix my problem. what DID fix my problem was pulling it off, and cleaning out the hose as well as the two ports. intake and exhaust. get some carb cleaner and Q-tips. it's easiest to get to if you pull the intake and throttle body out. then, after you're done, pull the EFI fuse for 30 seconds to reset your codes.
