So after having my car for just over 2 years...and for the first time...the FIRST TIME...my check engine light went on frown.gif Have no clue of what happened either. I was driving down a side road, takin her easy and it went off. Im gonna hook her up to a scanner tomorrow and see what the code is/how to clear it. Hope its nothing thats gonna cost me $. Ive already spent enough $ on my car in the last month.

It's actually perfectly normal to have the light go on and off.
If the ECU doesn't see the problem for 3 consecutive trips, it will turn the light off.
If the problem comes back, it will of course turn the light back on.
The code will still be stored in memory regardless.

My car did the same thing last fall, it's just an O2 sensor and when you hook it up you can just clear it

Not to be a dick, but just because your car had that problem means nothing.
It could have been any of 20+ codes.....
ALWAYS check the code before doing anything.
Throwing out a fix before you have a code hurts more than it helps. smile.gif

it very well might not be anything, ive had mine go on all of a sudden and then after tightening the gas cap the light all of a sudden go out. good luck with whatever it is though.

As far as I know, OBDI [up to 95 in the Celicas] don't have EVAP codes. The gas cap is an EVAP code.

i bet since you worked on your suspension its your abs...check the wire and make sure its still intact

ABS problems will turn on the ABS light, not the CEL.
