^forum rules
The one that posting about street racing breaks:

1. Keep your posts clean. These forums, like the rest of the site, are designed to be a family-safe environment, and that means that you must watch your use of obscenities. This also means not attacking others in your posts. You must respect everyone here. If you're not going to post something helpful or respectful, don't post. This also means no pornography, sexist, racist, hateful, or illegal content as well.

because street racing is illegal, it breaks rule 1, therefore it is not tolerated on this forum.

NOW IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG SECTION SOME MOVE IT FOR ME>> THANKS

The illegal content part just gets to me. If you really think about it anyone that post illegal mods done to the celi, is in turn adding or describing something that they have done that is in one way or another not lawful. Sure swapping an engine an engine into your car is not going to get you in the same kinda trouble, street racing will get you into. But it is still braking a law (which by the way i think is a stuipd one to begin with).

Just something i was thinking about and felt like posting, not intended to offended anyone, Just get thinking alot right now.

plus in all technicality it isn't illegal to mod your car up the ying yang unless you are on the street. i don't think it is only because it is illegal that it is a big no no but it is also dangerous for one and if you get caught it is more than just a slap on the wrist. in someplaces (ie cali) you will get your car crushed and that is one less celi on the road and we def don't want that.
to be completely honest i don't see why everyone argues about street racing. honestly. that's what coomer has said no to. it is his site and he has the right to say that. if you don't like it the deal with it.

ok heres my oppinion...you can get fines out the a** for mods..i have already seen it happen..they start from the exterior and they work their way in...from lowering, lights, exhaust, wing, intakes,tv's,flashing **** going off on your dash even as simple as your alarm light when your driving, and a lot more...they will fine you out to wazoo for it....and most of the ppl on this site have modifications done to their car that are illegal..even the ones that preach street racing is bad and illeagal but in all technicallity they are driving an illegal car also....the type of street racing i was talking about wasnt in the middle of a busy street during rush our indangering peoples lives but downtown in a semi-blocked off road at 12:00-6:00 in the morning...i dont mean to bore you guys with my oppinion but i think that if we can post vids of 0-60 times(which were not done in our driveway im sure) and vids of racing over in the uk illegaly then we should alteast be able to talk about it...there should NOT be a double standard...just my oppinion....its NOT my intention to split the community feel of this board between the street racers and the non but only to state what i have seen and read on this site

There are various levels of legality. Modifications to cars (many of which are perfectly legal) are minor in comparison to street racing, much like jaywalking is minor in comparison to murder.

We tolerate modifications to cars here, just as cops tolerate jaywalking. There's a point at which it would get ridiculous to enforce every little tiny illegal thing. wink.gif

thank you finally an answer i was looking for...

and with that said .. how about having a racing section for some of the more responsibly people on the site. Where you or some of the mods would grant access to select members. That can talk about days at the track and or closed roads ..

i dont think that is a bad idea...but to answer your question jsut as coomer has stated it would be too much of a hassel for the cops to pull over every person they see with a custom exhaust..however it is still illeagal to do so
