Im looking for a home defense shotgun and i've narrowed my choices down to a mossberg 590 and the remington 870...which one is the better gun???

Although I am not some kind of hick, the gun is used when I go hunting.
I am by no means "country" but I do go hunting about once a year and the only gun I own is the remington I recently inherited from my grandfather This combined with my big black truck would make kwanza think I'm compensating for having a small dick... which I don't really appreciate, and make some people think I'm some kind of ignorant bumkin American who is out of touch with society. I'm not that guy you see with the giant confederate or American flag on the back of his truck who drives around blasting a shotgun off.
