ok so check this out
iif i were to hook up a 3000 watt mono amp max to a 600 watt sub *its 2 subs* would it damage the subs if i had the gain set at like 25 percent? and would i have to change the wire running from the battery to the amp cause right now i think im using 16 gague wire? is it a must if im not going to have the amp at full blast? -------------------- Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D

you didn't answer my most important questions...
that amp is not made to run at one ohm... one ohm stable is garbage... always go up one step from whatever the manufacturer says... so two ohms is the lowest... even at that though it will be pulling a lot of power.... manufacturer are liars....UNLESS its pheonix gold or crossfire or ED don't have a chance to check out the video, are you sure its a 4 ohm load, i am almost sure its not, what are the subs? what is the ohm of each voice coil? how do you have it wired? yes you must up the size of the wire... maybe not 0/1 gauge if you're only running 600 watt subs (rms?) but at least 8... i recommend 4, definitely NOT 16... 16 is more like LED size wire i would definitely re-wire the subs to run at 8 ohms and then you can turn the gain all the way up if you want... but not 100% sure as i don't have all the specs from you yet.... I need to know speakers RMS, voice coil OHM, 1 or 2 voice coils, and amps rating at 1ohm, 2ohm,4ohm, and 8ohm This post has been edited by pittfirefighter: May 1, 2007 - 8:05 PM -------------------- Breaking Axles...
