im planning to putting a turbo into my 5sfe, what im curious abt is that does the intercooler ifself do anything?...it cools down the air so does this mean it increases the hp..or it only works with a turbo kit?
....another thing is how much is for a TRD w2a intercooler kit, not too expensive i hope. cheers. edited: dont worry abt the intercooler question, already know the answer ![]() This post has been edited by lubu: May 10, 2007 - 3:44 PM -------------------- ![]() 98% completion --- aaRon |

They have both advantage and disadvantages.
There is no such thing as a TRD intercooler. (well, there is a TTE WRC unit of a ST185 rally car) That IC in the picture is ST205 intercooler setup. $AU 800 for the whole setup is not bad at all. BTW, there is a way you can make an intercooler work on N/A car. Heat will only transfer if there is a difference in temperatures. So, using liquid-to-air IC and chilled liquid (lower than ambient temp) will do the job. It'll work as long as you keep cooling the liquid (dry ice etc..) Worth the hp gain and complication?, I don't think so. This post has been edited by Gary: May 10, 2007 - 9:44 PM -------------------- _Gary
