I bought a 90-93 accord intake like a couple people suggested on another post and i got it today....wasnt really what i was expecting..i thought it was 2 pipes but mine came in 1...so i took everything out of the box..they gave me the pipe the filter and all the clamps i needed...took out the old box..cut the pipe to fit..n these are the results:

I didn't have a hole saw so i had to improvise. First I wrapped the pipe in electrical tape where I was drilling, just incase the drill bit decided to wander (helps prevement scratching). Then I used a small drill bit to start the hole (like 1/8" or less) and then moved up to a 3/8" bit, which was the largest I could track down in my house. After that, I had to use a reamer type of drill bit to get the hole up to 5/8" and then just kept working the hole in a circle until it was close to 3/4". Then, I slipped the grommet that came on the stock air box in the hole, stuck the MAF sensor in, and done.
I jacked up the car just to give me some more room to play and had it blocked and propped up on triangle stands (rather be safe than sorry). I left the wheel on, I found I had plenty of room to work in there. I unbolted about half of the wheel well plastic and just pulled it down so I could work in there. It's maybe 6 screws and a bit of pulling to get it off the car. I didn't remove the whole piece, I just left it resting on the wheel. -------------------- |
