Its sad that the most exciting playoff series has to end up this way. For those that don't know, the Suns and Spurs got into a lil scuffle at the end of Game 4 where the Suns were winning and had the game in the bag. Nash takes the inbounds pass and gets hipchecked into the announce table by Robert Horry. Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw left the bench area and immediately started to retreat and are now being penalized by the NBA for their action (or nonactions nontheless). So basically to sum it all up, the Suns (who were the victims in this game) gets penalized more for game 5 and it hurts the Suns more because the 2 players that got suspended for them are more valuable to their team. Poor Nash this series gets a busted nose, kneed in the groin and now gets hipchecked into the announce tables.
If i was Mike D'antoni, I would take my worst player and have him foul Tim Duncan hard to instigate a fight. If i was every NBA coach i would send out my worst player to foul the opponents star player. This is a bogus rule that must be changed. Any thoughts? The league has this rule because teams and players have enough common sense to not abuse it. It would be MORE unfair in my opinion if star platyers received 'special' treatment in terms of penalization... Bottom line is that Amare and Boris left the bench, and were punished accordingly. -------------------- ![]() |

It would be MORE unfair in my opinion if star platyers received 'special' treatment in terms of penalization... Bottom line is that Amare and Boris left the bench, and were punished accordingly. this rule was made so that certain situations does not escalate into anything more like the incident at the palace in detroit. In this case Amare and Diaw did nothing to escalate the situation. Its jjust a matter of COMMON SENSE which Stern clearly lacks. this is a team...teams that stick together all year and it is a natural instinct to get up off the bench and walk towards the action when your star teammate gets knocked down. believe it or not but there are people out there that try to break up the fight and act as a peacemaker. In the case of Diaw and Stoudemire, they took 5 steps away from the bench before turning away and their intentions clearly were not harmful. and no it is not immature its smart. i would take advantage of that rule to show how dumb of a rule it is. my intention would not be to injure a player but to start an altercation. if Stern is going to be so anal about that rule, then id use it to my advantage. u should be innocent till proven guilty. its a natural instinct to get up off the bench to aid your teammate. Stern needs to go cuz he's ruining the league...not just because of this one rule but for many other reasons as well. Stoudemire and Diaw gets suspended one game each for taking a couple steps away from the bench and Bowen gets nothing for kneeing Nash in the groin? Yeaaa...good one Stern. Prior to this game Stoudemire already had heated words for Ginoboli and Bowen, and the rest of the Spurs saying that they play dirty, and they proved it here that they do play dirty. Stoudemire reacted and did nothing wrong. This post has been edited by Sh0gunkid8721: May 16, 2007 - 7:40 PM -------------------- Note to new members.
