Its sad that the most exciting playoff series has to end up this way. For those that don't know, the Suns and Spurs got into a lil scuffle at the end of Game 4 where the Suns were winning and had the game in the bag. Nash takes the inbounds pass and gets hipchecked into the announce table by Robert Horry. Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw left the bench area and immediately started to retreat and are now being penalized by the NBA for their action (or nonactions nontheless). So basically to sum it all up, the Suns (who were the victims in this game) gets penalized more for game 5 and it hurts the Suns more because the 2 players that got suspended for them are more valuable to their team. Poor Nash this series gets a busted nose, kneed in the groin and now gets hipchecked into the announce tables.
If i was Mike D'antoni, I would take my worst player and have him foul Tim Duncan hard to instigate a fight. If i was every NBA coach i would send out my worst player to foul the opponents star player. This is a bogus rule that must be changed. Any thoughts? Amare deserved the suspension without question. No it's not "natural" to get up, being as though I played basketball and have been in Nash's position... people on the team held their cool and stayed on the bench...

QUOTE(dustin15brown @ May 17, 2007 - 2:42 PM) Amare deserved the suspension without question. No it's not "natural" to get up, being as though I played basketball and have been in Nash's position... people on the team held their cool and stayed on the bench... I have played basketball as well so whats your point and i have been in that situation where we've been involved in brawls. Obviously your team werent as closely bonded as most teams because most benches would not have stayed in that situation. Its a shame that u guys wouldnt go out on a limb to help ur teammates even if it was attempting to break up the fight. Believe whatever u want but its a bogus rule...most people with common sense would agree. Then if this is the situation, and if a fight breaks out at school, then everybody thats standing around or that walks towards the fight should be suspended from school as well or given some kinda punishment as the people who were involved in the fight? BS. I personally think that fights are somewhat good for the game. If a fight happens let it go and then give out the punishment as need be. Did Amare break the stupid rule? Yes, but there are always exceptions to a rule and sometimes u should be capable of bending a rule here and there. The NBA should have looked at the player they were trying to suspend. Is he a troublesome player like Ron Artest? If Artest was involved, he shouldve been suspended because of his history, but Amare is a model athlete and a class act and in no way would he ever do anything to jeopardize somebody else. The NBA will look into this rule next year and will fix it. If there are no punches or physical altercations, then there should be no suspension, plain and simple. A fine and booted from the game would be good enough, but to suspend somebody in a crucial game for something he didnt do, is just wrong and irresponsible. These guys work way too hard through the year to get something like this just snatched away from them. Stern needs to go. not for this one reason, but i believe he is prejudice as well. I used to like Stern but lately he's been abusing his power way too much. This post has been edited by Sh0gunkid8721: May 17, 2007 - 6:39 PM -------------------- Note to new members.
