I would like to install a car computer. I need to know about how much it would cost me. I just want to take an old laptop mount it somewhere power it up to a touch screen monitor then somehow rig it so when the car comes on so does the laptop and when the car shuts off so does the laptop. I also want GPS. I know its a big under taking but i have high hopes on how sweet it would look. I posted in pittfire's theard but he hasn't been around in a couple days so i made my own topic. -cnelson.

the only problem I would consider is that you cant re-point the screen left or right, so if the sun hits it you won't see anything
also, it isnt very expandable... BUT, the specs are 'good enough' to run anything you would want to also the input voltage is claimed to be 11-13. I dont know about yours, but my celica can put out 14.5 normally. this might cause a problem and you may have to improvise a 12v regulator On the plus side you wouldn't have to run wires to the back of the car! the inside of the celica dash is very roomy and easy to work with I'm happy to go take some pictures but its still cold&rainy. I'll take some over the weekend for ya. I had these pics on my work pc in the meantime ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -------------------- 94 Celica ST - CAI, CarPuter, many interior mods!
