I have a 1997 celica gt convertible limited edition, and my problem is that I bought a set of kyb's from ebay. The front struts are not the same as the ones in my celi, first the bottom bolt holes on the stock ones are further apart than on the kyb's and also the stock stuts are a little bit bigger than the kyb's. I know the guy dindn't send me the wrong ones because I checked the part number and it matches with other stores.
----PLEASE HELP---- DOES the limited edition have anything to do with this.

Did you get two inserts and two full replacements? Pictures would really help. It could be possible you got the superstrut parts...

ok i would put down 50 bucks that I have the answer to your problem.
Take the kybs that your trying to put on the front, and put them on the back because they are the back struts. The holes on the back are further apart. Next I'm guessing you have two skinny little boxes that just look like a shock alone. Thats because there strut inserts, or cartridges. Take out your front struts and there is a little nut that holds the insert on, you can remove it using a set of channel locks. New nuts should have also come with the strut. Remove old strut cartridge and install the new one then install the new nut, if you didnt get new nuts just use the old one.

I attempted to do the same thing as you are doing the first time I did it so I know exactly what is going on. I also looked up the part numbers because I thought I had the wrong stuff.
