Rmemeber my ramblings aout the next supra and my THEORIES with the V-10 Toyota Supercar. Well Road and Track has jsut realeased a new article stating that their sources have found Toyota to be building a V-10 supe.r car for Lexus and a New Supra for 2005. Looks like my theory is possibly correct. Fromm further digging and a few calls...ive found out that the 2005 date is a bit off. Toyota is planning on going all out on sports cars...V-10 Supercar with 6 speed and 6 speed sequential. Supra 6-Speed or 6-Speed sequential (?) or possibl automatic with 5-speed shift. 8G Celica...very fuzzy details. Due for 2006.

I actually read Road and Track this weekend, it's the September issue. The article about the Lexus supercar is in there, with a picture. It says it has a 5.0 V-10. It also said something about the engine having problems with vibtrations, but they fixed it, whatever. It's supposed to push 500 horsepower and compete directly with lambos and Ferrari Maranello's. They're going to introduce it when they introduce the Lexus line in Japan. The article also said the Supra was going to POSSIBLY be reintroduced in the US the following year to enhance their sports car image in the U.S., but it didn't say it would be based on the Lexus supercar. The next page had a concept drawing of an RX-7 that may come out, it looked a lot better than the new RX-8. I almost bought the magazine, but I don't have a scanner anyway so I wouldn't have been able to get the pictures up. Go to a bookstore and skim through it though if you want to see it for yourself.
