when i start my 97 5sfe engine : sometimes it revs up and then just stalls , and other times it idls on very low RPM when it is supposed to be high ! and i had to press the gas pedal and rev it a lil bit untill it gets to normal .........whats wrong with it ? what can i do to maintina my engine and what kind of additives should i use to keep my engine running smoothly ....

I had the same problem with another car. First off, you've got to find the Idle control valve! I've no idea where it is on a Celi! Sometimes they get a bit cr#ppy with age. I replaced the entire unit on my old car but later discovered that I could have got it cleaned up instead.
If memory serves me, there were some vacuum hoses connected to it and a electrical multi-plug. If the celica is the same, maybe there's a leak in one of the hoses or the plug's not connected properly? I don't know, just a thought... Its gonna be one of those "trial and error" faults I think.
