JDM SS-III debuted August of 95, the same time the celica line converted to the facelifted front end and other exterior bits. SS-III models differ in that they have higer spec as standard than the SS-II models, and all SS-III's have super strut suspention and LSD, whereas all SS-II models have standard MacPherson setup with no LSD. SS-II's built before August 95, however, DO have the option of super strut suspention and LSD, but only with the pre-face lift front end before the introduction of the SS-III took place. SS-II and SS-III differences prior to december 97 exterior wise were limited to SS-III's having standard alloy wheels and rear spoiler. Starting Dec. 97 SS-III's recieved a much more agressive exterior with exclusive mesh grill, front and rear splitters, unique white wheels, GT-Four style rear spoiler, and standard side skirts. Im not 100% on this, but either Recaros were standard and exclusive to the SS-III, or optional and exclusive to the SS-III. Starting dec. 97, white faced guages also became exclusive to the SS-III. Both always shared the same 3S-GE powerplants. Hope this helps
