I was talking to a buddy of mine from highschool the other day about his car. He has a 99 si civic. Well to get to the point he took out his a/c for weight and throttle upgrades...haha..I had to laugh..he claims that it was over 50 pounds he eleveated (sp)..which i dont really doubt but also said that he has better throttle response too. He was talking about the pullys not having to strain as much now..Anyway I was wondering your guys thoughts on it..respectable or ricer?

Practicality-wise... not. If the car were a daily driver, I'd take comfort over the small gain if any from ousting the A/C. People also do it with power steering... and it turns out, most of them are just paranoid about being slower than the guy next to them. |
