When I start my car (5sfe, 95,XXX) at 60F ouside, it takes ~2.6c for oil the pressure light to go out. Now it is 85F in the morning, it takes 3.4c. After a long run uphill with A/C on at 105F outside, I turned engine off
and restarted in 2 hours (105F still outside). It took scary 7.5c for the light to go out. I use synthetic 10w30 oil, just changed and absolutely full mark. The car burns little to no oil and has no problems. I assume it is normal as the oil was very hot and fluid - still would like to hear your experience in similar conditions. |

QUOTE(Bitter @ Jun 5, 2007 - 7:42 PM) oil light goes out as soon as my engine cranks. sounds like you might have a problem dude, both of you maybe! I have a GT with 5sfe where oil pressure sensor is located near the top of the head as opposed to 7sfe where oil pressure sensor in MUCH lower, so ST comparisons are not valid. |
