i'm shopping for a sportbike now guys, for a summer ride. Something in a 600cc - preferably an older model (affordable) ... i dont mind the bike being carb'd, just as long as it has relatively low miles and has been taken care of. Any brand/model recomendations - i really like the looks of a Ninja zx-6 w/ the ram air...maybe a CBR ... R6 ? any personal opinions? maybe you know some1 that has a nice bike for sale? help me out here

Have you thought about just getting a old school honda cruiser or something to start learning on? I picked up a 85 Honda shadow to start learning on for $500, and I'm glad I did. I would've recked so fast if I started off on my R6, I'm really glad I picked up a cheap bike to learn on.
When buying a bike its a good idea to go sit on as many as you can and see what feels comfortable. Most of us can't use a sport bike as good as pros, so I'd look for something that looks good to you and you fit on. Also don't forget about picking up some gear, that can add up quickly but is well worth it -------------------- -Brad
