If you dont do a rear alignment, can it affect the steering wheel not being straight? i got a strange alignment issue and the steering wheel isnt straight.

Yes
Despite sounding backward, the rear wheels determine what direction the car is pointed in. So, if they're not lined up with the chassis [called thrust angle], even if the front wheels are aligned right the wheel will be off when driving. --------------------  |
