I'm not looking for a bike right now, I got one thats pretty good but i was wanting to learn alot about them and get a good one when I go to the bike shop to get one. I don't want to spend a ridiculas amount of money on one and my local shop has a trek for $240 that was like $260 according to the stickers. Sry i dont know the model but i was wondering if it would be a good long lasting bike? I am mainly concerned with it staying in gear and not slipping out of gear. Im not so concerned with weight and stuff. I just want a good reliable mountain bike and i have read and heard good things about them but i was wanting some more opinions...

Hey man i don't ride my mountain bike anymore. But i have a Trek. (don't know the model) I got it for Christmas when i was like 8. So its 11 years old now. Still in pretty good condition and rides perfectly fine all 21 gears work and shift perfectly. Trek is by far the best way to go for a real mountain bike to actually do its job..
