Bad Smell Fromt Airconditioning Options

Hey guys i was just wondering if we have some sort of pollen filter that we need to replace from time to time, because im getting an awful wet flower/dead leaves smell when the a/c is on. In my moms 2000 jetta she had a pollen filter and she had to change it when this happend to her?

i have the same dead flower / dead leaves smell in my A/C , my whole car actually , i will pullmy blower motor and clean it soon ... i will do that freshner thing too
