Bad Smell Fromt Airconditioning Options

Hey guys i was just wondering if we have some sort of pollen filter that we need to replace from time to time, because im getting an awful wet flower/dead leaves smell when the a/c is on. In my moms 2000 jetta she had a pollen filter and she had to change it when this happend to her?

i didnt do it before , but i am pretty sure it is the same for the GT or the ST , according to a couple of posts on here and my repair manual , its located in the area behind the glove box , the glove box is held by some screws ... i will do it some time soon and tell you
