i wanted to see if it would be possible to cut off the two prongs and put them on in a vertical fashion so you could mount the emblem on the front bumper

you could probably cut them off and then tack-weld them where you want them. but if you try this, keep in mind that they are probably aluminum so don't use a welder that's set-up for steel.
