Hello my 94 celica GT has gone from running *only* at idle to not firing at all it is dead in the water. I have checked for spark and fuel both are there. I even installed new fuel injectors with no luck. So I am wondering if the MAP sensor can act like this when it goes out?
-I tried reading the codes after changing the fuel injectors and what I got was constant blinking check engine light, which I don't believe means anything. Then I disconected the Map sensor and hooked it back up and tried to start the vehicle with no luck and did the code reading one more time. This time I got a 31 which I believe is related to the MAP sensor, now I don't know if I got the code because I had just disconnected it and hooked it back up or if it is the problem???? ANy thoughts.... -Also they are very expensive so I was hoping to pick up a test sensor or two out of a junkyard, now I need to know what years and models of vehicles Toyota made that would have this same sensor? I know I won't find any 94 celicas in our junkyard, maybe a few of there trucks?????? THanks guys |

i respect that you did not get mad at me kinda makes me feel bad now, ill try to keep in good graces , one thing that bothers me is i got 3 jobs and yet i still cant even afford to get an oil change and when i see someone blowing money on car parts they dont need cuz of failure to check if the original part is good or bad it upsets me.....i LOVE the fact that you are trying to take care of ur celica...i just wish i could do the same......but yea check to see if you got spark and/or fuel inside cylinders....thats the main thing then trace back from there all the way to distrebutor then coil(igniter).............plz test each one b4 tossing out cuz those parts may be good and may come in to good use for a broke man like me.....also this may not be it but im not sure how you checked if ur getting gas to injectors....maybe you pulled out a line and gas came out of it...if thats the case the gas that came out of it could of just been gas left in lines and fule pump may not be working........cuz what i was thinking of is when you started it and it puttered maybe it was useing fumes as well as what was in the lines then when you checked for gas inlines then rest of what was in there is now gone......but i may be wrong....just throughing in some options......let us know what else you find...or how your progress is going......you may already know this but when you pull off gas lines always unscrew gas cap to release pressur other wise pressur is forcing gas through lines wether pump is working or not
