Throttle getting stuck slightly open Options

Ok, here's whats going on. After using the gas pedal, when I disengage the clutch, sometimes my RPM's stay up anywhere from 1500 to 3500. If I just tap the pedal, it goes back down to normal idle speed. I figured my cable or something in the throttle body was getting worn out. With the car off, I went and messed with the throttle from inside the engine bay, and it was perfectly fine. With the engine on, I can feel the resistance. I sprayed WD40 on the TB, that did nothing. I checked to see if the cruise control was messing with it, and nope. So now I come to you 6gc. What's going on?

i've had that problem too... about a week ago it started to do that, would idle at 2k.. unless I tapped it then it'd go down.. so I checked the cable.. loosened it a little.. actually found out that nut that holds it together was stripped.. so i pulled it off and put on a new one..

but today it started doing it again.. so i'm thinking the cable is just a little too tight and can keep it from going to normal idle..
