That's a picture of the 'WRC' version of the ST205 motor. The BOV near the intercooler is not active from the factory and is only present for homologation purposes in WRC...

Oh i see now. so if its not active, why not put the hks on there instead? i thought bov needed to go on the charged pipes, not on the intake pipe? Just wanted to make sure.

thanks for the response

I think you misunderstood. The canister right at the turbo outlet is the WRC specific BOV for anti-lag that is not active in stock form. From there, a hose carries the boost pressure over to where the HKS is mounted in the picture, where the normal stock bypass valve would be located. The HKS just replaces the normal stock one in the picture.

Compare to a normal ST205 engine bay with intake:

Ok.. now i got it. I didnt realize there was a stock mounting lacation on the intake. I thought he had added it. Now it makes sense, and the way its pictured here, the system is kept recirculated opposed to blowing off atmosphericaly. Sweet, thanks a lot Charlie! Im Getting smarter by the day biggrin.gif A very good exchange indeed

Actually, that HKS installation is a vent to atmosphere, as far as I can tell. The ST205 kit comes with a plug and a little mounting bracket to hold the BOV in that location while blocking off the hole on the intake side. That's just where they thought it was reasonable to mount the BOV for both the WRC and normal version of the ST205.... (the HKS is pretty big and fits well in that spot)

I have a stock BPV that I use most of the time, but also an HKS that I mount right off the intercooler when I want more attention. I wouldn't have room there, except that I don't have the WRC stuff and my throttle cable is routed differently. The pic I posted earlier was of the clip I used in my motor swap. smile.gif
