Who has what and how do you like it????

im thinking of changing from a center sprung 6 pluk disc to a non center sprung one because my spec stg 3 clutch spat out a few of its disc springs last week....... Its been less than a year and i dont do hard driving even the mech. was surprised.

Justin from spec said that he could do another disk with thicker metal on it to prevent the springs from leaving the disc but also suggested i go with a non center sprung disc to totally avoid the problem.......

ive been told that without the center sprung disc ill get chattering later on, not to mention a much harsher 1 and 2 and possible 3rd gear as well. but of course i wont have to worry about the springs poping out again.

or should i just go with a thicker metal on the disc to keep the springs in? and risk it happening again???

id like to hear personal testimony from ppl who have had a non center sprung and how they like or dis like them.

thanks much in advanced

ps heres a pic of my current disc

I would suggest getting a nonsprung hub with a kevlar disc material. If I ever need a new clutch thats what Ill do. My kevlar disc engaged great for daily commute and grabbed when I needed it to. It was sprung. I do know of people with a non-sprung hub and kevlar and they love the clutch for a DD. Good luck!
