well i have a 3rd gen 3s swap and is using the 5s tranny but some how the long shaft axles keeps poping out anyone have a clue why..need help.. im not using the braket that holds the the long shaft to the motor cause the 3rd gen 3s doesnt have the bolt holes to have the braket there. anyone with a 3s and is using the 5s tranny please let me know how yah made this work thanks

r you saying that ur not using any thing to hold the carrier bearing in place??? because thats what usually holds the axle into the tranny.

my 3rd gen 3s had holes to mount the carrier bearing assembly. I just had to take one of the two supports off for the intake manifold.

ive been having trouble with axles on the s54 trans and 3s set up. the length between the trans and the carrier bearing all are fine but the my axle between the carrier baring cv joint and the hub seem to be to short. This resulted in my cv joint giving out and coming apart.

reasonably thinking about it the s54 trans is still using the same s54 mounts and thus should be in the same spot as it was with my 5s. so i know its the fact that ive just been getting the wrong axle from autozone.
